Regional contest “Reading family of Priuralye”
Every years West-Kazkhstan regional library for children and youth named after Khamza Yesenzhanov organizes regional contest “The reading family of Priuralye”, dedicated to the International Family Day. The contest is dedicated to rebirth and support of family reading; it is organized with the goal of attracting attention of parents to the problem of children reading and cultivation of reading culture of growing generation, activation of work of children libraries and other organizations of the region, working with families.
The goal of the contest:

  • Demonstration of families, children in which for many years visit libraries, love to read books from young age and their parents are the first teachers in their passion for reading;
  • To help parents in the books reading skill cultivation in their children;
  • Formation of social consciousness, directed towards the increase of family and family values prestige in spiritual and social-economic development of the society;
  • Popularization of the best family traditions

During the contest every participating family has presented a slide-presentation “Introduction to family” to the spectators, book exhibition “The books of our family” and theatre show based on fairytales. The contest was judged by the competent board. The winners of the contest received prizes, gifts, diplomas, and appreciation letters.

 

Interregional conference
“Kazakhstan – My Motherland” within “Libraries in XXI century through the eyes of young people” common theme
Fifth year in a row West-Kazakhstan regional library for children and youth named after Khamza Yesenzhanov organizes “Kazakhstan – My Motherland” interregional conference among young librarians within “Libraries in XXI century through the eyes of young people” common theme.
In 2017 the conference was organized within the Head of the State message realization, celebration of 25th anniversary of State symbols of the Republic of Kazakhstan, 100 years anniversary of national-freedom movement “Alash”.
The conference is organized with the goal to activate the work of libraries of the region, to increase the role and prestige of a librarian in raising growing generations, to improve the social status of a librarian profession, to strengthen professional connections and cooperation.
During the conference there were discussions about the role of literature in patriotic raise of growing generations, new ideas and approaches to the work with kids and youth among young and future librarians, the specialists exchanged their experiences on implementing new ideas for development of information technologies for the creation of exciting reading environment.

 

National literature contest (virtual)
Within the goal of State program “Kazakhstan Strategy - 2050” implementation West-Kazakhstan regional library for children and youth named after Khamza Yesenzhanov organizes virtual contest of national literatures named “Books build bridges” for fourth year in a row.
This contest of national literatures “Books build bridges” is directed towards national literature propaganda and popularization among children and youth. In 2017 the contest was dedicated to Belorussian literature.


The goals of the contest:
Culture, literature of different nations’ propaganda and conservations, development of national unity feeling at kids, peace and harmony in our society, formation of tolerance to different nationalities and culture at children and teenagers, development of informational cooperation, increase of number of readers, who are interested in cultural heritage of Belorussian nation, libraries’ work on popularization of reading, Belorussian writers’ books propaganda activation.
Children and teenagers at the age of 6 to 15 participated in the contest.


Art contest (virtual) “Kemel eldin – kemenger kalamgeri”, dedicated to 100 years anniversary of the creation of national movement Alash.
Based on the Concept of republican cultural project “Myn bala” (“Thousand children”) West-Kazakhstan regional library for children and youth named after Khamza Yesenzhanov declared an art competition (virtual) named “Kemel eldin – kemenger kalamgeri”, dedicated to 100 years anniversary of the creation of national movement Alash.


The goal of the project: to raise the role of official language as a factor for strengthening social harmony and Kazakhstani patriotism, formation of skills of tolerant communication of kids through language, culture, traditions and customs, research of art heritage of the first political party Alash, to the role and meaning of struggle for principles of research.
Contest timing: the beginning of March and end of September of 2017. Region citizens at the age of 12 to 15 years old from different nationalities participate in the contest. Participants have to write an essay with recommendations about writers, poets or other significant social activists of the country, who took part in the national movement Alash. The submissions are accepted in Kazakh language. Specialists will finalize the results of the contest. By the results of the contest participants will be awarded by prizes and nominations.
